108 anthocyanidin metabolites over 8 different types.
Anthocyanidin is a class of water-soluble pigment compounds that widely exist in plants. Free anthocyanins are rare under natural conditions and mainly exist in the form of glycosides. Metware's Anthocyanidin Analysis assay is a targeted LC-MS/MS method that will detect and obtain absolute and semi-quantification of 108 compounds in the anthocyanin metabolic pathway.
Anthocyanin detection is an anthocyanin targeted metabolomics approach with accurate identification and quantification of 108 anthocyanidins, which include pelargonidins, cyanidins, delphinidins, peonidins, petunidins, malvidins, procyanidins, among others.
108 anthocyanidin metabolites over 8 different types.
Absolute quantification of 41 metabolites with standard curver > 0.99 and semi-quantification of 67 metabolites.
Applicable for identifying metabolic changes in different color plants, such as flower color, fruit color, seed color, stem color, and leaves color.
Article Spotlight: Anthocyanins accumulation and molecular analysis of correlated genes by metabolome and transcriptome in green and purple asparaguses (Asparagus Officinalis, L.).
Asparagus (A. Officinalis L.) is a highly nutritious vegetable crop. Here, three purple asparagus cultivars, namely, Jing Zi-2, Purple Passion, and Pacific Purple, and one green cultivar, namely, Jing Lv-1 were studied. At least 16 kinds of anthocyanins were identified in purple and green cultivars, and peonidin, cyanidin, and their glycoside derivatives were found to be the major anthocyanins. Transcriptome data showed that most anthocyanin biosynthetic genes and at least 5 kinds of transcription factors were significantly differentially expressed significantly between the green and purple cultivars. Dark-treated experiments revealed that anthocyanins are not produced in the absence of light, and both the anthocyanin biosynthetic and regulatory genes were downregulated greatly in the dark, implying that anthocyanins accumulation in asparagus is light-dependent. Overall, the results of this study provide useful information for understanding anthocyanin accumulation and the molecular mechanism of anthocyanin biosynthesis in asparagus.
Abiotic stress: light (UV), water (drought, waterlogging), heavy metals (cadmium, lead, etc.), temperature (high temperature, low temperature), mechanical damage and other external factors bring reversible or irreversible effects on plants.
Biological stress: the influence of insects, bacteria, fungi, and viruses on the growth and development of plants.
Article Spotlight: Transcriptomics integrated with metabolomics reveals the effect of regulated deficit irrigation on anthocyanin biosynthesis in Cabernet Sauvignon grape berries.
Regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) is a new type of water-saving irrigation technology developed in recent years which was well suited to arid and semi-arid grape plant areas. The anthocyanin synthesis of grapes under RDI was revealed through omics in this study. RDI slightly decreased the hundred-grain weight and increased the soluble solid content, juice pH, reducing sugar content, and total anthocyanin content. Meanwhile, the total acid content decreased before ripening. Transcriptomics and metabolomics analyses revealed that large numbers of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and significantly changed metabolites (SCMs) were filtered in the RDI groups. RDI1 with 30% ETc upregulated 7 related gene expression levels in the anthocyanin biosynthetic pathway and also increased some metabolites contents. Eventually, the contents of most monomeric antho cyanins in the RDI groups were increased, and the proportion of Mv increased in the ripe grapes of the RDI groups. In all, RDI is a useful water-saving irrigation method that could also increase anthocyanin content in grapes.
